Terroir and style
Crozes Hermitage surrounds the famed Hermitage hill and spans an array of soils, from rolled stones and alluvial plains to loess, granitic sands and clay on higher ground. This diversity shapes a wide range of Syrah expressions. Aromas include violet, blackberry, raspberry, pepper, fresh herbs and subtle smoky tones. The palate can be supple or more structured depending on the area, always driven by Northern Rhône freshness. Whites from Marsanne and Roussanne offer white flowers, fresh almond and yellow fruit. The overall style is approachable, expressive and immediately enjoyable.
Food pairing
Crozes Hermitage pairs beautifully with grilled meats, roast poultry, braised dishes, fine charcuterie and mild to aged cheeses.
Good to know
It is the largest appellation of the Northern Rhône, known for its diversity. Wines from the granite northern slopes tend to be tighter and more peppery, while those from the alluvial plains show softer, fruit driven charm.
Signature
Crozes Hermitage expresses the generous, fresh spirited side of Northern Rhône Syrah.
