Terroir and style
Gigondas lies at the base of the dramatic Dentelles de Montmirail, with soils of limestone, marl, sand and rocky scree from the jagged cliffs above. Altitude, varied exposures and regular winds bring freshness and tension to this sun drenched terroir. Reds built around Grenache with Syrah and Mourvèdre show black fruit, sour cherry, garrigue, incense, pepper, leather and licorice. The palate is broad, firm and structured with ripe tannins and lively energy. The cooling influence of the Dentelles gives Gigondas a vibrancy that sets it apart from Châteauneuf du Pape. The style is robust, aromatic and deeply Mediterranean with a touch of mountain lift.

Food pairing
Gigondas pairs beautifully with grilled lamb, Provençal stews, game, braised meats, roasted vegetables and aged cheeses.

Good to know
Thanks to higher elevation than most southern Rhône crus, Gigondas shows natural freshness and strong ageing potential. Once seen as Châteauneuf’s little brother, it is now celebrated for its distinct character.

Signature
Gigondas expresses Mediterranean power shaped by altitude, a generous, spicy and vibrant style.
