Château Lascombes is one of the major estates of Margaux, known for its generous, modern and seductive expression of the appellation’s gravelly terroirs. The vineyard spans a mosaic of deep gravel, clay and sand, a diversity that allows cabernet sauvignon and merlot to express richness, suppleness and freshness simultaneously. Lascombes’ style is marked by generous aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, violet, gentle liquorice, fine cocoa, subtle vanilla and sometimes a hint of fresh mint or cedar. The palate is broad and velvety, with ripe, enveloping tannins that give the wine a fleshy yet harmonious texture. The finish is long, smooth and lifted by discreet freshness that balances the wine’s natural opulence. With age, Lascombes develops spicy and floral complexity, gaining refinement while retaining its innate charm. It represents a generous, expressive interpretation of Margaux where sensuality is finely controlled.
