Terroir and style
Pouilly Fumé is rooted in flint, Kimmeridgian limestone and marl soils that elevate Sauvignon Blanc with tension, purity and a distinctive smoky minerality. Aromas include citrus, crushed herbs, white flowers, green apple and gunflint. The palate is linear and vibrant with sharp acidity and a long mineral finish. The style is crystalline, elegant and quietly intense.

Pouilly Fumé pairs beautifully with oysters, shellfish, grilled fish, goat cheese, crisp vegetables and delicately spiced Asian dishes.

Good to know
The term “Fumé” refers both to the smoky character imparted by flint soils and to the grey bloom on ripe grapes. Top wines can age ten to fifteen years with grace.
