The vineyard sits on very old gravel rises mixed with sand and light limestone, a perfectly harmonious terroir that allows cabernet sauvignon to ripen slowly and with remarkable finesse. Lafite’s style is unmistakable, marked by refined aromas of pure blackcurrant, dark raspberry, noble cedar, fine tobacco, graphite, pencil lead and sometimes iris, violet or black tea.
