Château d’Yquem is the absolute pinnacle of Sauternes, a mythical wine defined by luminous purity, near infinite aromatic complexity and a unique capacity for aging. The vineyard sits atop an exceptional terroir of gravel, clay and sand over a subsoil that optimises water flow and morning mists, creating perfect conditions for botrytis of unmatched precision. Every berry is harvested one by one, sometimes in more than ten passes, concentrating an essence of sémillon and sauvignon blanc of extraordinary intensity.

Yquem’s style is marked by magnificent aromas of roasted apricot, candied peach, citrus marmalade, mango, pineapple, quince, saffron, noble vanilla, with hints of acacia honey, beeswax, white flowers, white tea and warm stone. The palate is broad, voluptuous and opulent, yet always carried by crystalline acidity that keeps the wine effortlessly lifted. The sweetness is deep, pure and perfectly balanced by tension. The finish is endless, radiant, saline and fresh, leaving an impression of clarity and serene brilliance.

With age, Yquem becomes a wine of breathtaking complexity, blending honey, dried fruits, incense, white truffle, sweet spices, tea, dried flowers and a texture that becomes silky, almost weightless. It is a wine of patience, light and nobility, considered one of the greatest wines ever made.
