The palate is powerful, dense and structured, yet balanced by vibrant minerality. Whites from Marsanne and Roussanne reveal light honey, pear, almond, white flowers and a broad, silky texture. The overall style is majestic, long lived and deeply expressive.
Food pairing
Hermitage pairs beautifully with game, roasted lamb, braised meats, mushrooms, rich sauces and, for the whites, lobster, creamy poultry dishes and aged cheeses.

Legend has it that knight Gaspard de Sterimberg retired as a hermit on this hill in the thirteenth century, giving the appellation its name. Hermitage remains one of the world’s most ageworthy and revered wines.
