Taittinger, a long standing family house based in Reims, is one of Champagne’s most elegant and recognizable signatures, distinguished by its chardonnay driven style. The vineyards, spanning numerous crus including prime parcels in the Côte des Blancs, are rooted in chalk rich soils that lend finesse, clarity and purity. Vinification is precise and mostly in stainless steel, with a significant proportion of reserve wines and long lees ageing to develop texture and complexity. The wines show ripe lemon, white flowers, green apple, peach, delicate brioche and fresh chalk. The palate is pure, fluid and airy, with very fine bubbles, gentle tension and a long, lightly floral finish. Taittinger’s style is bright, elegant and silky, a refined and timeless expression of Champagne chardonnay.
