Terroir and style
Saint Joseph stretches along the right bank of the Rhône on granite slopes mixed at times with gneiss, schist and loess. Varied altitude and sheltered exposures allow Syrah to express itself in multiple nuances. Reds display violet, blackberry, black raspberry, pepper, graphite and hints of tapenade or fresh herbs. The palate is linear, fresh and precise with fine tannins and granite driven minerality. Whites from Marsanne and Roussanne reveal white flowers, yellow fruit, almond and a silky yet energetic texture. The overall style is elegant, vibrant and beautifully balanced.

Food pairing
Saint Joseph pairs beautifully with grilled meats, veal, duck, roast poultry, mushroom risotto and aged cheeses.

Good to know
Historically much larger, the appellation has risen in precision as old hillside vineyards have been revived. Some of its steepest terroirs rival Côte Rôtie and Hermitage in quality.

Signature
Saint Joseph expresses Syrah in a lifted, mineral and peppery fashion with finesse and drinkability.
