Château Rauzan Gassies is one of Margaux’s most traditional and understated estates, defined by a gentle, classical and upright expression of cabernet sauvignon and merlot. The vineyard lies on fine gravel with sand and light clay, producing wines that are elegant, fragrant and moderately structured. Rauzan Gassies is marked by aromas of fresh blackcurrant, red raspberry, plum, violet, peony, soft cedar and light tobacco, sometimes with hints of fine pepper or subtle forest floor. The palate is supple and balanced, built on fine, straight tannins that give the wine a classic texture without excess. The finish is harmonious and perfumed, with the airy, floral character typical of Margaux. With age, the wine gains finesse, floral nuance and delicate spice, remaining faithful to a refined, traditional style.
