Château Sociando Mallet is one of the most authentic and vigorous wines of the Haut Médoc, defined by firm structure, dark depth and an exceptionally upright expression of cabernet sauvignon. Located on a superb terroir of deep gravel over clay limestone overlooking the estuary, the vineyard benefits from a cool, breezy microclimate that allows slow ripening and gives the wines natural energy and tension. Sociando Mallet’s style is marked by intense aromas of blackcurrant, fresh blackberry, dark plum, graphite, cedar, noble tobacco and occasionally menthol, violet or warm stone. The palate is straight, dense and vigorous, built on firm but very pure tannins, with pronounced freshness that lengthens the wine and adds great drinkability. The finish is long, racy, slightly austere yet perfectly noble. With age, Sociando Mallet develops remarkable spicy, floral and mineral complexity while retaining its characteristic energy. It is a wine of character, depth and rectitude, often compared to great Pauillacs for its structure and longevity.
