Domaine de la Romanée Conti is considered one of the most prestigious wine estates in the world and represents the pure essence of the Côte de Nuits. Located in Vosne Romanée, it owns some of Burgundy’s most iconic vineyards, including Romanée Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg, Romanée Saint Vivant, Grands Échezeaux and Échezeaux, as well as a portion of Montrachet in the Côte de Beaune. Although its origins date back to the eighteenth century, the domaine’s modern reputation was shaped during the twentieth century by figures such as Edmond Gaudin de Villaine, Aubert de Villaine and Henry Frédéric Roch. Viticulture is carried out with extreme precision, focusing on very low yields, meticulous manual work and strict respect for the natural balance of the vines. The domaine was also a pioneer of organic and later biodynamic farming in Burgundy. In the cellar, winemaking emphasizes purity, elegance and depth, aiming to preserve the unique energy and vibrancy of the Vosne Romanée terroirs. Wines from Domaine de la Romanée Conti are renowned for their aromatic complexity, silky texture, subtle intensity and extraordinary ageing potential, offering a singular and timeless expression of Burgundy’s greatest vineyards.
