Château de Beaucastel is one of the most prestigious estates in Châteauneuf du Pape and a historic benchmark of the southern Rhône. Rooted in a terroir of galets roulés, clay, sand and limestone, the domaine is known for using all thirteen permitted grape varieties, with mourvèdre playing a central role in providing structure, freshness and longevity. The reds offer deep aromas of dark fruits, garrigue, sweet spice, fine leather, violet and sometimes a noble animale nuance. The palate is broad and sunlit but supported by fresh underlying tension, with firm tannins and impressive depth. The whites, dominated by roussanne, are among the best in the Rhône, showing white flowers, light honey, yellow fruit and a rich yet balanced texture. Beaucastel’s style is defined by harmony, finesse, complexity and remarkable aging potential.
