1914 was a dramatic vintage, interrupted by the August mobilization. Yet the weather was exceptional, with a hot, dry, and bright summer, and very early harvests. Many crops were abandoned, but where grapes were picked, the wines were surprisingly successful. Reds are ripe and full-bodied, with fine structure. Whites are broad, warm, occasionally off-dry. A great year sacrificed.

To Know
1914 is an anomaly. A great viticultural year, surrounded by catastrophe. The best wines were remarkable, though production was scattered and scarce.
