Macvin du Jura is a traditional mistelle made by adding Jura marc to fresh grape must, preserving the fruit while adding warmth and body. Chardonnay, Savagnin, Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir may be used, each giving its own nuance. Aromas include plum, quince, candied orange, honey, walnut, sweet spice and light caramel. The palate is round, velvety and generous with a soft freshness that balances the sweetness. The style is rich, expressive and unmistakably Jura.
