Château Pape Clément is one of the oldest and most distinctive estates of Pessac Léognan, defined by luxurious aromatic richness, velvety depth and an almost baroque intensity. Located on deep gravel mixed with clay and sand, the vineyard gives cabernet sauvignon and merlot generous ripeness, producing wines that are powerful, sensual and opulent. Pape Clément’s style is marked by highly expressive aromas of ripe blackcurrant, candied blackberry, dark plum, violet, incense, cedar, sweet spices, cocoa, mocha, noble tobacco and sometimes truffle or balsamic resin. The palate is broad and velvety, built on rich, enveloping tannins and warm density balanced by controlled freshness. The finish is long, deep and marked by precious wood tones and persistent spicy complexity. With age, Pape Clément gains even more silkiness, with fine leather, delicate smoke and majestic aromatic layering. It is a wine of character, opulence and expressive charm, one of the most baroque and charismatic faces of the Graves.
