Terroir and style
Barsac lies within the Sauternais but stands apart thanks to its limestone subsoil covered with light sands and clays. This limestone foundation gives natural freshness and tension to its sweet wines. Sémillon dominates, with Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle touched by noble rot. The wines show a luminous golden colour with aromas of orange zest, acacia honey, mirabelle plum and orange blossom. The palate is sweet yet airy, defined by crystalline acidity and a purity that clearly distinguishes Barsac from Sauternes. The finish is long and delicate.

Food pairing
Barsac pairs beautifully with spiced roast poultry, creamy fish dishes, seared foie gras, blue cheeses and fruit based desserts such as apricot tart.

Good to know
Barsac uniquely has the right to label its wines as Barsac or as Sauternes. The finest vintages age for several decades.

Signature
Barsac expresses crystalline sweetness and mineral freshness in a graceful and luminous style.
