Terroir & style
Pouilly-Fuissé is the flagship appellation of the Mâconnais region, centered around the villages of Fuissé, Pouilly, Vergisson, and Solutré. It covers around 800 hectares, exclusively planted with Chardonnay. The vineyards are planted on varied soils—Jurassic limestone, schist, sandstone, and marl—often steep and well exposed. Chardonnay here shows breadth, elegance, and strong minerality. The wines are pale gold in color, with aromas of white flowers, stone fruits, hazelnut, and sometimes a smoky note. On the palate, Pouilly-Fuissé balances richness, tension, and a silky texture, with a long, saline finish.

Food pairings
Excellent with roasted pike-perch, veal blanquette, or firm cooked cheeses.

Good to know
Since 2020, 22 climats have been recognized as Premier Cru, highlighting the diversity and quality of this terroir.

Signature
Pouilly-Fuissé expresses the southern nobility of Burgundy Chardonnay—sunlit, finely chiseled, and deeply mineral.
