Domaine Vincent Pinard, based in Bué at the heart of Sancerre, is now regarded as one of the appellation’s most brilliant and ambitious estates. Brothers Clément and Florent Pinard have elevated the domaine through meticulous viticulture, refined parcel work and a constant pursuit of precision in winemaking. Bué’s mix of clay limestone, terres blanches and caillottes allows for deep and nuanced expressions of sauvignon blanc and increasingly of pinot noir. The white wines show ripe lemon, white peach, wet chalk, flint and white flowers, with a palate that is broad yet tense, saline and balanced. The reds are elegant, finely textured and marked by cherry, raspberry, peony and warm stone with a clear mineral backbone. Pinard’s style is pure, luminous and modern in its elegance, ranking among the most refined in Sancerre.
