Terroir and style
Cornas lies on steep south and southeast facing slopes of decomposed granite, gneiss and sandy gore soils. These warm and draining terraces allow Syrah to reach exceptional ripeness, producing some of the most powerful wines of the Northern Rhône. Aromas include wild blackberry, violet, black olive, pepper, leather and hints of smoke or iron. The palate is dense, broad and firmly structured with vibrant depth and assertive tannins. The style is intense, warm hearted and strongly built, with impressive ageing potential.

Food pairing
Cornas pairs beautifully with game, roasted lamb, grilled meats, stews, wild mushrooms and aged cheeses.

Good to know
Cornas means “burnt land”, a reference to the heat accumulated by its granite slopes. The appellation is exclusively dedicated to Syrah, one of the Rhône’s few single variety crus.

Signature
Cornas expresses granite born power in Syrah, a dark, fiery and deeply structured style.
