Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux is one of Bordeaux’s most iconic second wines, defined by refined elegance, silky texture and the floral signature that embodies the spirit of Margaux. Produced from parcels and lots not selected for the Grand Vin but grown on the same fine gravel over limestone and sand, Pavillon Rouge benefits from remarkable natural precision and nobility for a second wine. Its style is marked by delicate aromas of fresh blackcurrant, red cherry, pure raspberry, rose petal, violet, fine cedar and occasionally gentle tobacco or pencil lead. The palate is silky, fluid and subtly deep, supported by refined tannins and the airy freshness typical of Margaux. The finish is long, harmonious, with discreet yet persistent grace. With age, Pavillon Rouge develops greater floral complexity, fruit softness and structural finesse, becoming a particularly noble, vibrant and romantic expression of the Margaux style.
