The Claude Dugat estate is located in Gevrey-Chambertin in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. Founded in the early twentieth century, it became one of the most sought-after names in Burgundy under Claude Dugat’s leadership from the 1980s. Today, his children carry on the legacy with the same high standards. The estate covers about six hectares planted mostly with pinot noir including Gevrey village premier cru and grand cru plots such as Charmes-Chambertin. Vineyard work is meticulous without herbicides or chemical fertilizers and each vine is treated with great care. Grapes are hand-harvested and the winemaking is low-intervention with long barrel aging using a high proportion of new oak. The wines are deep and taut with remarkable purity and a distinctive style combining intensity silky texture and long aging potential. A small quantity of refined Bourgogne rouge and Bourgogne blanc is also produced.
