The soils are shallow, stony, and composed of white limestone and marl. East-facing, the site allows for slow, balanced ripening. The wines are remarkably refined, with an elegant, linear structure. The color ranges from light to medium ruby. The nose offers cherry, dried rose, fine spices, black tea, and flint. On the palate, it delivers vibrant freshness, precise tannins, and a persistent mineral finish. A wine of finesse, built to age.

Food pairings
Perfect with pink lamb saddle, morel-stuffed chicken, or porcini risotto.

Good to know
It is the smallest Grand Cru in Gevrey-Chambertin. The Clos des Ruchottes, a monopole of Domaine Armand Rousseau, is its most renowned parcel.

Signature
Ruchottes-Chambertin expresses calcareous grace, crystalline precision, and the pure poetry of high-altitude Pinot Noir.
