Roses de Jeanne, created by Cédric Bouchard in Celles sur Ource in the Côte des Bar, is one of the most singular and admired domaines in Champagne. Bouchard works with an uncompromising single parcel philosophy: each cuvée comes from one grape variety, one plot, one vintage, with no blending. The vineyards, farmed with deep respect and minimal intervention, lie on Kimmeridgian marl and limestone, giving wines of great purity and natural verticality. Vinification uses indigenous yeasts, exclusively in tank, with very low sulfur, no dosage and long ageing on lees. The wines show aromas of ripe citrus, small red berries, yellow apple, white flowers, wet chalk and sometimes linden or dried herbs. The palate is linear, vibrant and crystalline, with extremely gentle bubbles, fine texture and a quiet but profound depth. Roses de Jeanne’s style is pure, contemplative and minimalist, one of the most refined and poetic expressions of contemporary Champagne.
