Terroir and style
Côtes de Francs is one of Bordeaux’s smallest appellations, set on well exposed clay limestone hillsides. This fresh, bright terroir allows Merlot to shine with silkiness, supported by Cabernet Franc and occasionally Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines show deep colour with aromas of dark fruit, cherry, violet, gentle spice and a subtle chalky note. The palate is soft and harmonious with fine tannins and natural freshness. The style is round, approachable and quietly elegant.

Côtes de Francs pairs well with roasted poultry, grilled meats, slow cooked dishes, earthy risottos and semi firm cheeses.

Good to know
The appellation’s small size and relative elevation make it a reliable source of digestible, balanced wines even in variable vintages. Several long established families contribute to its strong identity.
