The vineyards lie between 230 and 370 meters in elevation on well-drained, stony brown limestone soils, sometimes deeper lower on the slope. Volnay is famed for producing the most elegant red wines of the Côte de Beaune. The color ranges from light to medium ruby. The nose shows rose, cherry, raspberry, sweet spices and sometimes hints of leather or licorice. On the palate, the wine is delicate, silky, smooth, with length and a velvety touch.

Food pairings
Perfect with roasted poultry, veal tenderloin, mushroom risotto or aged brie.

Good to know
Volnay is often compared to Chambolle-Musigny for its refinement. It is one of the few Côte de Beaune villages producing only red wine.

Signature
Volnay expresses aerial grace, floral sensuality and the textured delicacy of slope-grown Pinot Noir.
