Château Filhot is one of the oldest estates in Sauternes, known for a classical style defined by elegance, freshness and the noble expression of sémillon. The vineyard lies on a mix of gravel, sand and clay over limestone, benefiting from the ideal microclimate created by the nearby Ciron, which promotes botrytis development. Filhot offers a more airy and vibrant style than some of its neighbours, with aromas of fresh apricot, white peach, orange peel, delicate honey, linden blossom, light tea and subtle minerality. The palate is bright and supported by lively acidity that balances sweetness and gives the wine remarkable drinkability. With age, Filhot evolves toward saffron, candied fruit, beeswax and a smoother, more velvety texture, while retaining a luminous quality characteristic of the great sweet wines of Sauternes. It expresses a refined, straight and serene vision of the appellation.
