Domaine Auguste Clape is a true Cornas legend, representing the raw granite power and timeless depth of the northern Rhône. Rooted in steep granite arenas, the domaine has long produced some of the purest and most monumental syrahs in the region. The wines show concentrated aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, black olive, violet, pepper, warm stone and occasional smoke. The palate is dense, vertical and tightly structured, driven by fine acidity and firm yet noble tannins. With age, the wines reveal layers of leather, tapenade, graphite and deep spice. The Clape style is uncompromising: no artifice, total fidelity to terroir, and a majestic, authentic interpretation of granite grown syrah.
