1939 was a disrupted vintage, shaped by general mobilization and the outbreak of war in September. The growing season was decent, with a mild spring and a moderately warm summer. But harvests were rushed, disorganized, and sometimes abandoned. Reds are light, uneven, and often lack depth. Whites are simple and brisk, but rarely refined. A fragmented vintage, caught between viticulture and war.
