Mazis-Chambertin is one of the oldest and most prestigious Grands Crus of Gevrey-Chambertin, covering about 8.8 hectares at the northern end of the appellation. The vineyard is planted on brown limestone soils mixed with white marls and abundant stones, promoting deep root development. Pinot Noir here produces powerful, structured wines, always balanced by finesse. The color is dark ruby with purple highlights. The nose offers aromas of black cherry, blackberry, leather, licorice, and truffle. On the palate, Mazis-Chambertin impresses with its concentration, racy tannic frame, intense minerality, and majestic length.
