Terroir & style
Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru covers about 98 hectares across fifteen or so highly regarded climats located on east-facing slopes just below the Grands Crus. The soils are stony, lean, and limestone-rich—ideal for Chardonnay. The wines are pale gold in color, with a nose that is complex and pure: white flowers, citrus zest, fresh butter, flint, and occasional hints of dried fruit. On the palate, they are marked by outstanding mineral tension, precision, restrained intensity, and a long, saline finish. These are wines built to age.

Perfect with langoustine risotto, creamy poultry dishes, or aged Comté cheese.

Top climats include Les Pucelles, Les Folatières, Le Cailleret, and Les Perrières—some rival Grand Cru quality.
