Terroir and style
Sauternes is defined by gravel, sand and clay soils combined with morning mists from the Ciron river that enable noble rot. Sémillon leads the blend with Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle. The wines show deep golden colour with aromas of honey, apricot, roasted pineapple, saffron, white flowers and beeswax. The palate is rich, silky and opulent, balanced by bright acidity that keeps the sweetness lifted. The style is powerful, complex and exceptionally long.

Food pairing
Sauternes pairs beautifully with foie gras, roasted poultry, mildly spiced dishes, blue cheeses, fruit based desserts and almond pastries.
