Harvests were mostly early and under excellent conditions. Reds are rich, ripe and fleshy, yet retain freshness in the best sites. Whites are more variable, often round and generous, though occasionally lacking tension.

Burgundy: excellent reds, dense and deep; whites are broad, sometimes lacking edge
Bordeaux: warm vintage, powerful reds, well-balanced on the Left Bank
