Charmes-Chambertin is a flagship Grand Cru of Gevrey-Chambertin, covering about 28 hectares. On deep, well-drained clay-limestone soils, Pinot Noir expresses itself with voluptuousness and roundness. The color is deep ruby. The nose reveals generous aromas of black cherry, ripe raspberry, licorice, faded rose, and forest floor. On the palate, Charmes-Chambertin delights with its ample flesh, silky texture, and a long, elegantly spicy finish.
