Meursault is one of the most iconic appellations of the Côte de Beaune, covering about 395 hectares for whites (and only 13 hectares for reds). The soils are mainly clay-limestone, often very stony, encouraging excellent grape ripening. Chardonnay expresses itself here with richness, breadth, and remarkable mineral finesse. The wines display a pale golden color. The nose reveals aromas of fresh hazelnut, butter, honey, ripe citrus fruits, and sometimes floral notes. On the palate, Meursault stands out with volume, creamy texture balanced by saline tension, and impressive length.

Food pairings
Perfect with roasted lobster, turbot with beurre blanc sauce, or aged Comté cheese.

Good to know
Although Meursault has no official Grand Cru, some of its climats, such as Les Perrières, Les Charmes, and Les Genevrières, produce wines that rival the greatest white Burgundies.
